Karl's Muse?

So word on the street is that Blake Lively, star of Gossip Girl has captured the artistic heart of Chanel's head designer of simplicity , Karl Lagerfield. She is set to become the new face of Chanel from getting the brand so much publicity in the last year from her red carpet escapades with the brand.

It marks the first time since the original 90210 that a tv show has made such an impact upon the fashion industry, with Leighton Meester being the face of Vera Wang and Blake taking over Chanel, Gossip Girl now prime in it's fourth season is here to stay.

Blake is to join Keira Knightley, Audrey Tatou, Nicole Kidman, Georgia May Jagger and Lily Allen all who have played Muse to Lagerfield, but by the looks of it she already has, in an exclusive photo shoot that took place last month in Paris. Hello Blake.

Snow, CDs and tshirts.

Okay so we Brits have come to that crazy time of year when we are covered in the most retarded fall of snow in existance. I find it funny as I'm used to USA winters in Nantucket where everything freezes, and in London, whenever the temperature goes below zero everyone FREAKS OUT. Trains are cancelled, airports close and we literally think the world is going to end as it would if I went a day without facebook, twitter or blogging.

I started work at HMV a couple of weeks ago and so have become pretty good at repeatedly styling out one tshirt in a variety of outfits, high waisted skirts, patterned tights, leggings and jeans with my trademark DMs and assortment of 80s hi tops have literally saved my life.

Also everyone buy this Balmain tshirt it's $40 and is to celebrate 10 years of the fabulously dreadful style.com. Loads of designers have made one so click hereeee to have a lookie

So hi Blogspot

My name is Amelia and this is my brand new blog.

I work in PR in London and I'm here to share all of my thoughts with you.

This is me,

My favourite product creators are Nars, Mac, Laura Mercier and Chanel. So yeah you can tell I only accept the best but I guess that's me, it's what I deserve.

I have purple hair, and if you don't, then you're not worth anyone's time.

Lanvin it large

So the high street's designer collections have always created havoc and laughed it off, in a true fashionista sense. But I've seen nothing in conparison to the hype and horrors and Lanvin meets H & M. (sorry Valentino who?)
So I tottered over in my lunch break to the lovely Kingston H&M (I figured if it's in my lunch break, I'm actually getting paid to shop, like fuck yeah?). But sadly it wasn't the relaxing and stress free trip I was expecting, the two tiered store was a craze and daze of angry white middle class sixteen year olds with their mothers who threw strops at every cocktail dress they found that was not in their size and throwing a stream of haute, minus the couture to the floor in anger and departing to the rest of the centre. Of course I arrived too late to get anything, but don't worry. I WILL get the restocked black cocktail dress, Lanvin illustration tshirt and embroided clutch. Or die. Yes buying those (all for less than £150) sounds like a much better plan.

Christmas is Coming!

Usually the highlight of my christmas count down is the M & S advert (oh my goodness I sound so sad), but this year I was sufficiently disappointed.

Dear blogger, please let me embed things soon, this clicking of links is extremely tiring. Anyway this year's highlight if you ask me, is the underdog's John Lewis advert. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpV-xagkTDU It features my personal choice for christmas number one, the sensational Ellie Goulding's rendition of Elton John's infamous 'Your Song'. It's just about the cutest thing I've ever seen.

Also high on my radar this week are all things sparkly, I became so bored that I actually watched our belittling British attempt of a 'Teen Awards' it was quite disappointing if I'm being frank, but I'm more in love with Katy Perry than ever before.

Now tell me that isn't the coolest microphone you have EVER seen.
Here are further examples of my love for sparkles from Halloween. Oh yes.
Coolest thing everrrr? At only £18 from Beyond Retro, it's the best purchase I've made all summer.
Also Kate Middleton's ring is beyond beautiful. If William could dump her and love me forever? That would be great.

Books and Bears

So it's been a few days since my last post! I've been really getting into the following book:
It's not so much a guide to finding the perfect jeans or top, as Lauren Conrad's style book does so patronisingly (it literally sounds like it was written by a twelve year old)
The book is much more of an intellectual viewpoint of English Socialism and the operatives of the class system and the effects that it has had on the process of fashion and one's personal style. The 1920s book style makes you feel like you're reading a wartime book whilst the delightful illustrations are definitely something to marvel.

Tonight I'm off to a charity event in Tottenham Court Road via Katch PR that is being held by Hauser Bears, a charity with a striking amount of celebrity support (they now have Gail Porter as their patron, and she'll be hosting tonight's event). It's apparently quite celebrity studded, with the charity having press support from bands like 'The Saturdays' to comedians like 'Ricky Gervais' so it should be quite interesting!

Here's my scheduled outfit for this evening, if I don't change my mind before then.

Excuse the messy room and lack of make up please.

Let them eat cake

I baked the most marvellous cake today, it had strawberries and dark chocolate and the most beautiful and bouncy sponge. Reminds me of the GORGEOUS pumpkin pie I baked last week, it had so much sugar in that it tasted more like treacle tart, which is a good thing as I don't especially like the taste of pumpkin. There is something just so magical about baking cakes. If all else fails when I am older. I shall open up a cake and coffee shop in the countryside and spend my life there.
